Yung Miami of rap duo City Girls is in hot water after she suggested she would beat her son for being gay.

The Florida-based City Girls rapper, who found fame on Drake track “In My Feelings,” came under fire earlier this year over resurfaced tweets from 2013.

She had tweeted: “If I Ever See Any Gay S**t In My Son Imma Beat That Bo So Baddd.”

“I have absolutely nothing against gay people, but I wouldn’t want my son to be gay.”

The star issued a statement apologising for the remarks in August—but when she was asked about her tweets in a radio interview on Tuesday, the rapper doubled down.

Speaking on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, she said: “I didn’t tweet nothing about [the LGBTQ community]… I was just talking about my son. I just said that if I saw anything gay in my son, that I would beat him.

“But that’s just like when your mama tells you, ‘If you break my table I’m gonna beat the shit out of you’… that don’t mean she’s gonna beat the shit out of you, she’s just saying it!”

She added: “I have absolutely nothing against gay people, but I wouldn’t want my son to be gay.

“I’m around a lot of gay people all of the time; my stylist is gay, my cousin is gay.”

Anger was reignited on Twitter by the comments, with the rapper called out for her homophobic remarks.

One fan told her: “DON’T HAVE KIDS if your not planning on supporting & loving them UNCONDITIONALLY!” Another tweet branded her a “problematic homophobe.”

People also questioned the statement issued on Yung Miami’s social media accounts in August.

The pre-written statement claimed: “I understand how it can be seen as offensive to the LGBTQ community. I also realise how insensitive my comments were to my fans and followers.

“I want everyone to understand that I personally didn’t mean any harm by saying those comments about my son’s sexuality.

“My deepest apologies and heart goes out to those who have seen that tweet and were offended by that.”

Yung Miami had posted a pre-written apology statement in August about her anti-gay statement.

City Girls are currently on a break, as the duo’s other member, JT, is serving a two-year jail sentence for credit card fraud.
