Man who tricked straight men into gay sex jailed for 15 years

Duarte Xavier

A man who duped four straight men into having sex with him by pretending to be a woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Duarte Xavier, 33, posed as “Ana” on numerous dating websites, sending men suggestive photos of women in order to convince them to meet him for sex.

He would then invite them to parks or one of his homes in Bournemouth or London, where he told them to wear a blindfold during the entire sexual encounter.

Passing his sentence at Kingston Crown Court on Friday (November 9), Vice-Judge Advocate General Michael Hunter told Xavier that he had acted in “deliberate and cruel” ways, according to the Evening Standard.

“You have been found guilty of what can only be described as a campaign of deception and obtaining sex by pretending that you were a woman,” said Hunter.

“You have demonstrated no remorse or understanding of the position of your victims” – Vice-Judge Advocate General Michael Hunter

“By pretending that you were an attractive and sexually adventurous young woman, you tempted them into engaging in sex with you.

“I have taken into account your deliberate and cruel tactics that you carefully used to subject your victims to this activity.

“You have demonstrated no remorse or understanding of the position of your victims.”

Xavier, who was reported to police after one of the men he tricked removed their blindfold during sex, caused one of his victims to suffer from PTSD, the court heard.

The man was diagnosed after being exposed to what he called Xavier’s “own sick fantasy” in his impact statement.

“He was so convincing. It was supposed to be a bit of honest fun between two consenting adults,” he continued.

“I now have extreme stress, anxiety, panic attacks and depression.

“I was a people person before and loved meeting new people. Now I feel I’m carrying around a dark secret that will always be part of me. I hope one day I can learn to trust people again.”

Xavier, of Wandsworth in south-west London, was found guilty last month on six counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

The Metropolitan Police have released an appeal urging any other victims of Xavier to get in touch.

Has a man tricked men into gay sex before?

Absolutely. In September, Bryan Deneumostier in Florida pleaded guilty after pretending to be a woman in order to trick at least 80 unsuspecting men into having sex with him for porn videos.

He admitted duping 150 men into sex acts—more than half of whom didn’t know he was recording—and uploaded the videos to subscription-based porn site StraightBoyz.

Deneumostier pleaded not guilty in July, but changed his mind and admitted two counts of illegal interception of oral communications after prosecutors agreed to drop three related charges as part of his plea deal.
