Kirstie Alley denies rumours John Travolta is gay and says pair were in love

Kirstie Alley has opened up about her love affair with John Travolta, denying rumours the actor is gay.

Alley, who came runner-up in this year’s Celebrity Big Brother series, is close friends with Travolta and the pair are neighbours.

Speaking to The Sun, Alley said there is a hole in the fence between their properties so they can privately access each other’s homes. They are also both members of the Church of Scientology.

When asked whether she thought Travolta was gay, she said: “No I don’t. I mean, I know him pretty well — and I know the love…”

Alley said she made the decision to turn Travolta down because she was already married to Parker Stevenson and wanted to remain loyal.

“John would agree it was mutual that we sort of fell in love with each other,” she said, adding the pair never consummated their relationship.

“I will say it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, the hardest decision I’ve ever made because I was madly in love with him — we were fun and funny together.”

“John and I would have devoured each other because John and I are so alike. It would be like two blazing stars that just fizzled out. John goes to bed at like four or five in the morning and wakes up at three in the afternoon,” she added.

“I go to bed at nine o’clock at night and wake up at five in the morning we basically would have not have seen each other. It would have been a disaster.”

Travolta has been married to actress Kelly Preston since 1991.

In 2014, male pilot Douglas Gotterba, who was employed by Travolta, claimed the pair had a six-year affair.

The Pulp Fiction star denied the claim, saying: “This is every celebrity’s Achilles heel.

“It’s just about people wanting money. That’s all. It happens on many levels.”
