Culture Club are back with a new album after almost 20 years: Listen to new single
Culture Club are back with a new album, Life, and have dropped a brand new single, “Let Somebody Love You” almost 20 years after the release of their last studio album.
You can listen to the brand new track here:
The band have performed the song live in the past but have never released a studio recording before today.
They are now gearing up to release their first studio album of original material in almost 20 years on October 26th.
The band, which is fronted by LGBT+ icon Boy George, were originally due to release a new album in 2015, however the 18 tracks that were reportedly recorded for that album never materialised. The band announced in 2016 that the album was being shelved.
They are known for their chart-topping hits in the 80s, including “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me,” “Time (Clock of the Heart),” “Church of the Poison Mind,” and “Karma Chameleon.”
The band have been teasing fans across the world through social media for days with cryptic posts suggesting new material was on the way.
Despite making a name for themselves in the 80s with a string of hits, the band has only released five studio albums. They have sold over 50 million albums worldwide.
There was significant media attention on Boy George for his androgynous look in the 80s at the height of the band’s fame, and he was often asked about his sexuality.
Boy George has also had an illustrious solo career. He has had a string of albums as a solo artist, with his latest effort, This Is What I Do, coming out in 2013. He has also released several albums as a DJ.
He spoke candidly in 2016 about addiction, saying he was “in recovery”.

“I hear a lot of people talking about how drugs destroyed their lives,” he said.
“It’s not unique to pop stars. An addict is an extreme person whether it’s drugs or fame or being in love or food.”
He continued: “An addict is an addict. But until you can say, ‘I’m an addict’, you can’t start to make peace with those demons.”
Boy George appeared on BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are just last week, where he explored his family history and his Irish roots.
Fans can pre-order the new album now.
