Hannah Hart is engaged to her girlfriend Ella Mielniczenko

YouTuber Hannah Hart, best known for her series ‘My Drunk Kitchen’ has announced her engagement to her long-term partner.

The 31-year-old is engaged to BuzzFeed executive producer Ella Mielniczenko, and confirmed the news on Twitter with the caption “enGAYged.”

The video creator started her popular YouTube channel in 2011 and often uploads personal stories about her sexuality.

“It’s so exciting to share our engagement story, there is just not enough positive queer representation out there of the realities of being in queer relationships,” Hart told PEOPLE Magazine.

“It means all the same things as heterosexual relationships. We cry when we get engaged and fall in love and find people we want to spend the rest of our lives with,” she added.

In true YouTuber style Hart uploaded a video confirming the engagement to her channel, offering her fans “a one-on-one” chat about her news.

Hart proposed to her girlfriend during a trip to Hawaii and picked the ring out of a plastic bucket as the sun set on the beach.

“When I think of the epitome of our relationship, it’s sitting on the beach at night without judgment,” said Hart.

The pair are planning to wed in 2020, according to PEOPLE Magazine.

Hart has repeatedly spoken out about her journey to accepting her sexuality through her channel MyHarto, which now has 2.5 million subscribers.

Her work promoting equality and acceptance for the LGBT community resulted in her being honoured in with LGBTQ media monitoring organisation GLAAD’s Davidson/Valentini Award.

The Californian even found time to write a book about her life, called Buffering: Unshared Tales of a Life Fully Loaded, which covers her slowly coming to terms with being gay.
