Lonely gay porn star opens up about difficulties of dating because of his job in heartwarming video
A gay porn star has opened up about the realities of juggling dating and his day job in a new YouTube video.
Blake Mitchell, a popular adult performer, said that being a porn star is a “unique kind of fame” that comes at its own special price.
Mitchell said that he faces many challenges trying to date as a gay porn star, particularly when people are more interested in his fame than him.
“The first challenge has to do with finding people who are interested in me for me… not just for my fame,” the actor wrote in the video’s description. “I have had situations where I have been interested in someone, and we have been hanging out for a while, when they suddenly start asking me for a shout-out, or for me to promote this or that.”
The star also touched on the difficulties that come with being out in public as a porn actor and the inappropriate comments that some fans give him while on dates.
“I’ve been out to the bars before and people will say things to me that, because I am a sex worker, they think it is acceptable to say to a total stranger,” he wrote. “Besides making me uncomfortable, if I am with someone who I am interested in, this can be a little embarrassing.”

The actor also mentioned that filming schedule was a challenge in trying to keep a relationship going. Furthermore, he describes dating while filming sex a “one-way open relationship” and doesn’t think it fair to ask a partner to deal with such a set up.
But Mitchell is adamant that he will continue filming in spite of these difficulties.
“My career is not something I want to give up on. I am still very passionate about my work, and feel like I am good at what I do,” he wrote.
However, he regretted that he might have to quit in order to experience a meaningful relationship.
While he expressed gratitude for his fans support, he noted that: “When I’m laying in bed at night, and I turn my phone off to get ready for bed, I’m alone.”

Some noted that Mitchell was young and still had time to find a long-term relationship partner.
“It took me 31 years to find my partner… now 15 years later…all my life choices brought me to him..so don’t despair,” one fan wrote.
“Always remember there is a difference between being lonely and being alone. You have tons of face-to-face friends and family all of whom love you so you’re not alone,” wrote another.
