Queer Eye renewed for third season – with one major change

There’s more good news for fans of Queer Eye this week.

Off the back of the show’s landmark haul of Emmy nominations on Thursday (July 12), it was announced today that the Fab Five will be returning for a third season.

Netflix revealed that work is underway on the third season of the popular makeover show, which stars Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness.

However, there’s one big change for the show’s upcoming third season.

For the first time the show will be leaving Georgia.

Much of the first two seasons have been based in and around the city of Atlanta – which came to the fore as the show explored hard-hitting issues including race in America and religious homophobia.

However, Netflix confirmed that the third season will be filmed in Kansas City, Missouri.

The show’s official Twitter account teased: “Get in, henny! We’re taking a road trip. Are you ready for Season 3? Kansas City, Missouri HERE. WE. COME. ✨ ”

The Queer Eye cast reunited this week to celebrate the show’s Emmy nominations.

It landed an Emmy Award nomination for Structured Reality Program.

The show will have competition from Antiques RoadshowFixer UpperLip Sync BattleShark Tank and Who Do You Think You Are?.

It’s also up for three technical awards – Outstanding Cinematography For A Reality Program, Outstanding Picture Editing For A Structured Or Competition Reality Program and Outstanding Casting For A Reality Program

There’s even more excitement for hair expert Jonathan Van Ness, who is also up for an Outstanding Short Form Variety Series award for his web series Gay of Thrones.

The Fab Five reacted to the news in pretty much the way you’d expect, with a freak-out followed by a synchronised dance routine.
