Your best photos from UK Black Pride
UK Black Pride took to Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens in London today to celebrate everything about being LGBT and people of colour. We picked some of the best pictures from social media to show a day of sun and full spectrum Pride.
UK Black Pride has become the only London-based Pride event the UK’s biggest LGBT charity, Stonewall UK, endorses after it split with Pride in London last year over the exclusion of people of colour.
Organised by a committee led by Phyll Opoku-Gyimah, UK Black Pride is about the specific experiences of LGBT people of colour – in celebration and recognition of the struggles faced and still to come. And of course, being out, stunning and proud in the sunshine.
Happy Black Pride! We are set to make History, Herstory & TheirStory today as we set our stage. Keep the noise up at #UKBlackPride, Sun 8 July. It’s about Love, Unity, Respect, Inclusion and everyone bringing their best selves. https://t.co/4mIiw0ShvM#shadesofthediaspora ?️? pic.twitter.com/EMjBJHjwR5
