Madonna shares touching message to LGBT+ people for Pride

Madonna shared a video of herself dancing along to the hit single ‘Solo’, by Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato.

She then wrote that she “bows down to every Gay Boy” and is sending her “love from Lisbon”

The pop singer is often labelled as a “gay icon” by many within the LGBT community, having spoken out about LGBT issues long before many of her peers.

She was unable to attend this year’s New York Pride, but wanted her LGBT fans to know that she was thinking of them.

The post continues to say: “This [queen] Bows down to every Gay Boy that taught me a. New dance, how to dress, how to drag, how to slay,

“To stand tall in the face of adversity, to not give up hope, to own my inner b*tch and to love my flaws!”

Although Madonna was otherwise engaged, other LGBT pop icons were able to attend this year’s New York Pride.

Lady Gaga surprised her fans by popping up during the Pride weekend, for an unplanned performance.

Another LGBT community favourite, Kylie Minogue, also sang her heart out to bring celebrations to a close at the NYC Pride Island festival.

Speaking ahead of Pride, Minogue told the New York Post that it “feels natural” to be a gay icon.

Minogue is also famous for appearing at LGBT events across the globe, including Sydney’s Mardi Grass in 2012 and this year’s White Party Palms Springs in California.

Madonna’s words come at an important time for the LGBT community in the United States.

A group of transgender activists are currently working in the North American country in an attempt to fight President Donald Trump’s transgender military ban.

The National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) and GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) are attempting to block the transphobic memorandum that was proposed by the US President.

Aside from LGBT activism, Madonna is currently taking time to concentrate on her music.

According to Attitude, the singer is busy preparing new music in Lisbon, leaving her fans waiting for her next big hit.
