Yes, Alexander Wang is releasing ‘protect your wang’ condoms

Condoms come in so many assortments these days it’s hard to keep up.

Whether they’re fruit flavoured (well, plastic with a hint of fruit) flavoured, neon, vibrate, or do a series of other pointlessly embarrassing things, the sexual protection market is awash with humiliating gizmos.

But perhaps, just this once, there’s a condom marketing gambit we can all get behind – Alexander Wang’s “protect your Wang” condoms.

The designer condoms – with their admittedly commendable name – will hit their second year of issue come this New York Pride.

These stylish condoms will feature a bespoke Wang design, making sure that each and every person who gets lucky at Pride is getting off in style.

“The experience takes on familiar references of an industrial gym while elevating a sense of strength and protection – I can’t wait for everyone to see it on the streets of New York,” the fashion designer said.

The designer, alongside Trojan condoms, will be handing out the sex gadgets on June 24.

“Partnering with Trojan to bring the ‘Protect Your Wang’ collection to life has been an inspiring way to create products that have further purpose in supporting initiatives we are both passionate about.”

Marching at New York Pride, the fashion designer will be joining 200 other staff members to celebrate the art of wang protection.

Alexander Wang, who identifies as gay, says that New York Pride “has always been one of my favourite moments of the year.”

“Pride has always been one of my favorite moments of the year, and it’s even more amazing when you can engage with your friends and fans to share an important message that promotes wellness within the LGBTQ community,” he said.

The campaign hopes to promote condoms as the best methods of protection against STIs and can be used in conjunction with PrEP, which only protects against HIV and not other STIs.

Sex, but make it fashion!
