How to watch Queer Eye Season 2 for free

The Fab Five are set to return to our screens on Friday in the new season of Queer Eye, in what is going to be another emotional rollercoaster for viewers.

The feel-good show of the year will air on Netflix on Friday 15 June and will see Antoni Porowski, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Jonathan Van Ness and Tan France rolling up their sleeves to make over eight more people.

The show, which is a contemporary reboot of the original noughties hit Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, became an overnight success earlier this year – and just four months later, viewers are in for a treat with Season 2 on tap.

The new episodes will drop at 12am Pacific time on Netflix. That’s 5am on Friday morning, British fans. If you’re not already a Netflix subscriber, you can sign up for a one month free trial to watch Queer Eye and lots of other shows.

What can we expect in the second season of Queer Eye?

Last week, PinkNews got an exclusive first look at the new season of Queer Eye, which will see the boys return to Georgia to educate the show’s first woman about fashion, food, culture, home decor and hair.

The Fab Five will also pitch in and help build a community centre for a church.

Earlier this year, host Tan France revealed the second season would be more diverse, featuring a transgender man for the first time.

“I had never interacted with a trans person before, I’d never met a trans person before. And so it gave me an opportunity to ask questions that I have never been able to ask before,” he told Press Association.

“For example, what was it that when they realised they wanted to have top surgery (a surgical procedure carried out on the breasts of transgender patients), what made him decide that was the final thing that was going to change this process for him, that would really make him feel like a man?

“To things like, what is it that we can do to help? I’m ignorant, I don’t know what I can do to support the trans community. What kind of questions do you never want to hear again? Those kinds of questions were really helpful, for me and the audience.”

What happened in Season 1?

If you missed the first season of Queer Eye, head to netflix.com/queereye to watch it.

The show saw male grooming expert Jonathan Van Ness, interior designer Bobby Berk, food and drink aficionado Antoni Porowski, culture and all-round life advice pro Karamo Brown and fashion expert Tan France deliver much-needed makeovers to eight men.

Those who watched Queer Eye religiously will recall the makeover of Tom, the big-hearted vintage car fanatic with a “can’t fix ugly” attitude. The end of the episode saw him reunite with his partner Abby – and there wasn’t a dry eye among the Fab Five.

When was season two filmed?

We were all surprised when it was announced Queer Eye would be returning with another season so soon after the first one finished.

But earlier this year, the Fab Five revealed the new season had been secretly filmed before the first even went to air.

Interior design expert Bobby Berk made the confession in an interview with Variety.

“These we actually shot right at the tail of the first season,” he said.

“So, they’ve already been shot and they’re ready to go. There’s not anything we’ve learned since then because we did shoot these already [before season one aired].”
