Ted Cruz’s dad rants about ‘marriage between two men and a horse’ in vile anti-gay diatribe

Pastor Rafael Cruz, the father of right-wing US Senator Ted Cruz, has delivered an anti-LGBT rant in support of a Republican candidate.

The evangelical preacher and political activist, who has a close influence over his son’s political career, made the remarks at a rally for US Senate candidate E.W. Jackson.

In the clip picked up by Right Wing Watch, Cruz Sr attacks the US Supreme Court’s 2015 ruling that secured marriage equality, claiming the decision was illegitimate because the Constitution does not mention the word “family”.

He told the crowd: “Let me tell you another two words that are not in Article 1, Section 8: The word ‘marriage’ or the word ‘family.’

“That decision of the Supreme Court on June 26 of 2015, where they said that God got it wrong and marriage was not just between one man and a woman, it could be between two men and a horse.

“But basically, that decision was much more than same-sex marriage, it was, at the heart of it, the destruction, or the attempt to destroy, the traditional family.”

E.W. Jackson, who is seeking the GOP nomination to challenge Senator Tim Kaine, has previously said the minds of gay people are “perverted”, and that homosexuality is a “horrible sin” which “destroys families.

Jackson has claimed: “Homosexuality is a horrible sin: it poisons culture, it destroys families, it destroy societies – their minds are perverted, they are frankly very sick people: psychologically, mentally and emotionally.”

“It’s clearly wrong. A male and a female were meant to be together – both biologically and psychologically and by God in my humble opinion, to be together; no two males or females were ever meant to be together.

“I do think that the rabid, radical, activist, homosexual movement is really trying to change our culture and re-define marriage and do a number of things that I just think are not god at all.”

Republican Senator Ted Cruz is equally known for his anti-LGBT politics.

Senator Cruz has strongly backed new anti-LGBT ‘religious freedom’ laws allowing religious people to discriminate against married gay couples and trans people, and also claimed transgender people are a threat to his daughters.

Senator Cruz shared the stage with extremist pastor Kevin Swanson at a religious rally in 2015, where Swanson called for the death penalty for homosexuals.

The Presidential hopeful ducked calls to condemn Swanson for months before he finally admitted attending the rally was a mistake.

Senator Cruz also claimed transgender people are a threat to his daughters and branded actress Ellen Page a “liberal fascist” when she confronted his anti-LGBT politics.
