Lily Tomlin broke the news of the potential series when she was asked about whether or not Parton would appear in Netflix hit Grace & Frankie.

Parton appeared in comedy film 9 To 5 back in the Eighties alongside Jane Fonda and Tomlin – with the eponymous anthem to match.

Tomlin revealed that Parton was too busy with her own project to participate, sparking rumours of the potential series.
