Heartwarming hashtag #BeMoreMartyn pays tribute to Manchester Arena attack victim Martyn Hett a year after his death

Twitter tributes have poured in for gay PR manager and victim of the Manchester Arena attack Martyn Hett on the first anniversary of the tragedy.

Hett, who lost his life a year ago on Tuesday, who was known for his hilarious Twitter presence, Coronation Street superfandom and TV appearances.

Hett’s exuberant and kind presence touched members of the community and the world alike, sparking the hashtag #BeMoreMartyn to remind fans and friends to live their life to the full.

Hett’s partner Russell Hayward is one of the first people to tweet a note to his “role model.”

The inseparable pair appeared on couples Come Dine With Me and won the show.

Citing their “duvet days” and “dissecting each Corrie storyline,” Hayward praised the “absolute love of my life” in the moving post.

“I am bursting with pride that you took time out of your busy life to fall in love with someone like me,” he wrote.

“You are the absolute love of my life and best friend Martyn, and I’m so sad we won’t get to do the things we said we would, but I’m starting to do them privately.

“Even though I haven’t physically seen you, I have felt you with me.”

Friends have also paid tribute to their “amazing, loud and ridiculous friend,” hoping for Hett’s afterlife to be full of “voddy and coke” and “vintage Corrie.”

Twitter user Lee Dawson made a video of their friend and his finest moments.

However, it’s not just friends who were touched by Martyn’s life.

Hett’s former colleagues Rumpus PR said that the star was “missed every day.”

A play in Hett’s honour, named Be More Martyn, was performed for the first time on Monday night.

Taking place at Hope Works Theatre in Manchester, the show asked eight of Martyn’s closest friends and created a unique piece of verbatim theatre using their words.
