Six weird Royal Wedding memorabilia, from condoms to swimsuits

Claire Toureille May 18, 2018

With the Royal Wedding on Saturday, the UK has once again become the land of royal merchandise and quirky trinkets.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will say “I do” in Windsor this weekend, which means it’s the perfect occasion for oddballs looking to cash in peddling weird AF memorabilia.

Yes, because, as well as the usual sea of mugs, cushions and royal bunting, you can also pick up ridiculous items such as these:

Royal condoms

(Crown Jewels)

Crown Jewels, the company behind these novelty items, was inspired by the intercontinental coupling of Harry and Meghan.

The royal blue wrapping shows the couple in an embrace, locking eyes with whoever’s holding the condom.

Crown Jewels’ website tastefully reads: “Your prince will come.” The description adds that an “exclusive musical arrangement” of “God Save the Queen” and the “Star Spangled Banner” plays when you open the box, giving you new and inventive ways to show your patriotism.

Careful, though, the product comes with a warning: Do not actually use as a contraceptive.

Harry and Meghan one-piece swimsuits

(Bags of Love)

Out of all the marketing bits to have been spawned by Harry and Meghan’s union, this one takes the (wedding) cake.

Imagine strolling down the beach with Prince Harry’s face spread all over your body, beard and all.

We don’t know what’s funnier about these: Meghan’s deformed smile or Harry’s beard dangerously close to the nether-regions.

Royal Wedding plates – sort of

(Etsy)

It appears that in a parallel universe, pop singer Ed Sheeran swapped places with Prince Harry in order to marry Meghan. The only piece of evidence that could be saved is this set of plates.

Commemorative thimble: royal engagement edition

These are a very tasteful way to celebrate the royal union. Real needle enthusiasts will sureky like how this Harry and Megan thimble will complement their sewing sets.

Special recipe royal wedding sausages

Yorkshire-based sausage maker HECK had the perfect idea to make the royal wedding extra special: they came up with a special royal wedding “majestic sausages,” with their own recipe. The British pork shoulders are mixed with American mustard and sweet ginger.

Royal wedding marmite

Love it or hate it, Marmite is a staple of British culture. You can now own a “Harry” or “Meghan” commemorative bottle.

Happy Royal Wedding?
