Get ready for Drag Tots! RuPaul to star in new animated show about baby drag queens

Get ready, folks: RuPaul’s Drag Race is becoming two-dimensional.

Ru herself and a handful of fan favourite queens from across the show’s history are set to star in a new animated show, Drag Tots.

Bianca Del Rio, Adore Delano, Latrice Royale, Valentina, Bob the Drag Queen and Detox are all on the cast of the upcoming adult drag cartoon, which is coming to WOW Presents Plus in the US on June 28.

The show will feature the queens as infant drag stars Dina Saur, Roxy Moron, Lady Liber T, Arugula, and Donatella Mewhattodoo who use their “glitter powers” to challenge a toxic mainstream culture.

Meanwhile RuPaul, who is a producer on the show, will voice talking head Corny the Unicorn.

A synopsis states: “In a world on the brink of chaos, where fear is the rule of the land, the voices of a generation have banded together to give our planet what it needs…BABY DRAG QUEENS!”

There’s already a trailer for the show, which intersperses footage of Donald Trump with the queens.

Drag Tots is exec produced by RuPaul along with Randy Barbato, Fenton Bailey and Tom Campbell from World of Wonder.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, life-size versions of the Drag Tots characters will be on hand at this weekend’s DragCon in Los Angeles.

This year’s DragCon event had already made headlines when Drag Race star Tyra Sanchez posted a cryptic threat – after being banned from attending.

The winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 2 wrote: “Fair warning: DO NOT attend RuPaul’s DragCon on May 12, 2018. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

The performer has fallen out with much of the Drag Race community after allegedly making violent threats to other queens.

In September 2017, Sanchez posted a video of in which some claimed she was threatening violence against fellow queens Phi Phi O’Hara and Tatiana.

In the video she declares: “When you see Ms. Phi Phi and Ms. Mother f***ing Tati’s ass stretched out on the motherf***ing ground, you will know it was me. Yeah, I may not have physically did it, but it will be my doing. Remember that s**t, bitch.”

DragCon bosses were forced to intervene in the situation as complaints mounted.

“As it currently stands, we cannot allow you to come to DragCon (in any form). We need to see you make a sincere public apology,” DragCon said.

“This apology has to make it clear that you do not condone violence against another person (including other queens) and that you will in no way encourage others to act violently (or otherwise inappropriately).”
