Here’s why Andy Cohen keeps getting banned from Grindr

US talk show host Andy Cohen has revealed he keeps getting kicked off dating app Grindr.

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Cohen – the first openly gay host of an American late-night talk show – chatted about dating when Ellen asked him if he uses any apps to meet people now that he’s single.

The Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live star explained that, yes, he does use dating apps, but that he can’t get on with Grindr because the app thinks he’s impersonating himself.

“I’m on Tinder,” he said. “There is a gay dating app that I’m on – cough… Grindr… cough – that I keep getting kicked off of because they think I’m impersonating ‘Andy Cohen’, and they’re like, ‘Your photos don’t meet our guidelines,’ and I keep trying to [say]: ‘No! It is me!'”

Meanwhile, Olympic bronze medalist Adam Rippon recently appeared on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live and revealed just what kind of man he’s looking for in post-Olympics life.

In a clip from the show, Rippon revealed that his type is “someone who goes to the gym and, like, has a job”.

He followed the revelation with an affectionate look at Cohen, before fellow show guest Brandi Glanville suggested that he needs a “rough top”.

Rippon initially looked stunned by the suggestion, though he then replied: “Why not?”

In other news, CNN host Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen previously said that they originally met on a blind date – though it turned out to be a bit of a disaster.

“I knew within 45 seconds I was never going on a date with Andy Cohen,” Cooper told Jimmy Fallon. “Andy violated my cardinal rule.”

“I remember that something that I did made him shut down, so now I know,” Cohen replied.

Cooper went on to detail how Cohen immediately asked him about his famous mother – actress, designer and socialite Gloria Vanderbilt.

“I wanted to date the Vanderbilt boy!” Cohen said. “I was excited!”
