Demi Lovato and Q-Tip have covered Sir Elton John’s classic duet Don’t Go Breaking My Heart – and the video is fabulous.

Set at an LGBT bar, it features spectacular dancers and looks, despite Demi and Q-Tip’s absence.

The camp, fun-filled celebration of voguing and queer culture has been created ahead of the release of Sir Elton’s star-studded twin albums covering his back catalogue.

The albums, called Revamp and Restoration, will include an extensive list of contributors, including Dolly Parton, the Killers, Mary J Blige, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Pink and Coldplay.

The fantastic video comes after Demi revealed last year that she was open to dating women, saying: “That’s how I’ve always felt.”

The Sorry Not Sorry singer opened up further about her sexual orientation earlier this month, explaining: “I’m very fluid, and I think love is love.

“You can find it in any gender. I like the freedom of being able to flirt with whoever I want.”

In a statement, Q-Tip said that his song and the accompanying albums show that the legend of Sir Elton was still standing.

“Elton’s influence shows you that the possibilities of music are endless,” he said.

“He’s astute in so many types of music, he does it all and being a hip hop kid, our whole aesthetic was that everything was up for grabs and that’s how he has always been to me.”

On Twitter, Demi wrote that it was “an honour” to be on the album.

In a promotional video, she added: “This project with Elton was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. He’s an icon, a legend.

Speaking about Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, she said: “It’s such a classic song that it’s just always been around, and I feel like I’ve just always known the words.

“I think the new version of the song is really cool, it’s got more of a soulful take on it, and it’s something that I haven’t heard before. I think Q-Tip did a great job.”

Ed Sheeran will also cover Sir Elton’s Candle in the Wind on one of the albums.

The track, originally written in honour of the late Marilyn Monroe, was famously re-released by Sir Elton in 1997 as a tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales.
