Louise Redknapp to support Britney at Brighton Pride

Louise has been announced as one of the opening acts for Britney at Brighton Pride.

Redknapp started her career as a singer in R&B girl group Eternal.

After releasing a platinum debut album Always & Forever in 1993, she left the band to work on a solo career in 1995.

She has sold over five million records in the UK and 15 million worldwide.

Her third and last studio album was Elbow Beach in 2000, but she announced her comeback to music 17 years later when she shared a picture on Instagram of her in the studio recording new material.

She announced an “intimate and live” show in London and will follow up the date with a full tour in January 2018.

Redknapp announced the news on Twitter.

She wrote: “I can’t wait to perform on the main stage at @PrideBrighton on 4th August joining the incredible lineup of with @MNEK @Mabel @EllaEyre and course the one and only @britneyspears – see you all there ”

The news was welcomed by fans, who said it was “the best news ever”.

“Can’t wait to see you,” one person wrote.

Another added: “AMAZING. Already got my ticket. So excited you’re there too!!! xx”

Alongside Louise and Britney, Pixie Lott, MNEK, Mabel and Ella Eyre will also perform.

Following the announcement that Britney Spears would be headlining Brighton Pride, the website was crashed by a flood of fans.

Brighton Pride had previously announced that there would be a surprise headline act and had anticipated “a high demand” for tickets.

They have since migrated ticket sales to Ticketmaster in order to cope with the high demand.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, Britney said: “I’m so excited to be kicking off my UK tour this summer at Brighton Pride!

“I guarantee it’s going to be a night to remember and can’t wait to sing and dance with all of my LGBTQ fans.”

The famous Brighton festival has previously hosted acts such as The Pet Shop Boys and Years and Years.

Last year, rumours of a relationship between Louise Redknapp and Daisy Lowe began to circulate.

After they met on Strictly Come Dancing, model Lowe and singer-turned-TV-presenter-turned-singer Louise Redknapp quickly became best friends.

Since the show finished, the pair have often been seen together, sparking claims of a same-sex fling.

For some reason, people seem to struggle with the idea of two famous women being friends.

Rumours of a romantic relationship have only continued since Louise split from her ex-footballer husband Jamie.

Daisy was quizzed about their relationship recently on ITV’s Lorraine.

She said: “Louise is so much fun, it was good to see her come alive and blossom that way [on Strictly].

“We bonded over our love of theatre and dancing. Louise and I were each other’s cheerleaders.”
