Gus Kenworthy gets Queer Eye makeover

Gus Kenworthy has become the latest man to undergo a makeover at the hands of the Queer Eye team.

Olympian Kenworthy, who is known as the first action sports star to come out during his career, has been placed under the beautifying helm of beauty and hair advisor and member of the Fab Five Jonathan.

In an Instagram story video, Jonathan shares the skier’s makeover with his fans, including the products used to obtain the athlete’s razor-sharp look.

And it’s clear that Jonathan admires the champion, citing the clean-up as a “iconic for a classic icon”.

In a heartwarming story earlier on in the week, the sportsman shared how he first came out – at the age of 11, to his dog.

“He was my best friend,. I guess he was the first person I told I was gay. I remember whispering it to him and being like don’t tell anyone. He didn’t,” Kenworthy said to People.

The skier decided to come out publicly because he wanted to help young LGBT+ people who were in the closet.

“I would have told that younger person not to be so afraid to let everyone else know I was gay. It’s been incredible,” he said.

“I think if I could’ve told my younger self to just wait till when you’re older you’re going to be out and proud and you’re gonna have a boyfriend and you’re going to be so excited to share yourself authentically with the world and it’s going to make a difference for other peo[ple and I think it would’ve given that young kid a lot of confidence moving forward,” he added.
