Straight men watch gay porn a quarter of the time, study reveals

Straight men watch gay porn a quarter of the time, according to a new survey.

The study by adult film site YouPorn asked self-identified heterosexual people how often they watch same-sex porn involving people of their gender.

The results show that 23 percent of the time, heterosexual men watch gay porn.

But these results pale in comparison with those of straight women, who choose to view gay porn 39 percent of the time.

The study also discovered that 24 percent of self-identifying straight men have had gay sex.

Again, the female figure was higher, with 36 percent of straight women reporting having had sex with another woman.

A study from December revealed that gay and lesbian couples were happier than people in straight relationships.

After questioning more than 25,000 people in the UK and over 9,000 in Australia, researchers found that gay and lesbian couples are better off.

However, bisexual people suffered from worse relationships, on average, than straight or homosexual people.

Lesbian sex

The researchers suggested that gay and lesbian couples might have better relationships because they are less concerned about sticking to stereotypical gender roles.

They wrote that “individuals in same-sex couples (particularly lesbian women) generally are more equitable in the ways in which they allocate domestic work, including childcare”.

Straight couples often reaffirm their gender roles in relationships, which, the authors state, can lead to an unfair division of labour.

“Unequal household burdens are associated with poor relationship outcomes, including marital conflict and divorce,” they explained.

The researchers added that same-sex couples might feel more connected to a community of similar couples, which may increase their happiness.

They also suggested that “individuals in same-sex relationships may be more likely than those in different-sex relationships to have high relationship investment.”

And perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised with YouPorn’s findings.

After all, in 2014, a different study showed that women preferred watching lesbian porn more than any other kind.

As for their male counterparts, research conducted in 2013 revealed that the more porn straight men watch, the more likely they are to support same-sex marriage.

Last year, a controversial study argued that same-sex attraction in women only developed because it turns men on.

Lead researcher Menelaos Apostolou told PinkNews that “a considerable proportion of men desire same-sex attractions in women, and this is one possible reason why many women have such attractions.”
