Gus Kenworthy shaded Ivanka Trump and we’re here for it

Gus Kenworthy has shaded Ivanka Trump and it was incredible.

The Olympian tweeted a picture as he and the rest of Team USA made their way to the closing ceremony.

He wrote alongside the picture: “So proud of all these people! Everybody here has worked so hard to make it to the Olympics and have the opportunity to walk in the closing ceremony!

“Well… Everyone except Ivanka. Honestly, tf is she doing here??”

The shade had Twitter in stitches.

One person wrote: “Throwing shade right till the end!”

“Damn that shade though I’m dead,” another added.

Others made jokes of their own about the president’s daughters appearance.

“Guess it was easier to send her than a helium USA balloon,” one quipped.

A second added: “Business deals for the Trump brand no doubt. She’s neither qualified or cleared to represent the US in an official capacity.”

It’s not the first time the gay Olympian has hit out at the Trump family.

Earlier this week he sported a ‘Make America Gay Again’ hat.

Kenworthy sported the hat on top of his Winter Olympics uniform as he made a video in support of LGBT non-profit the Human Rights Campaign.

He said: “I am a huge supporter of the Human Rights Campaign because they’re a huge supporter of me.

“It’s been an incredible Olympics – we’ve seen so much change, so much progress, and so much visibility for the LGBT community, and that’s been incredible.

“I don’t think we would be anywhere near where are without all the hard work the Human Rights Campaign has done. You guys have changed lives, you have saved lives, and I cannot thank you enough.”

The out freestyle skier, who is on the US Winter Olympic team, has been fairly vocal about his support for LGBT rights at the Games – speaking out against the head of the US Olympic Delegation, Vice President Mike Pence.

Kenworthy has also vowed to skip a White House reception for athletes, saying: “When we have people elected into office that believe in conversion therapy and are trying to strip trans rights in the military and do these things that are directly attacking the LGBT community, I have no patience.”

Kenworthy faced some criticism for his debates around US politics, but her defended himself after he was accused of being “obsessed” with VP Pence.

He wrote: “This was literally my first tweet ever that mentioned him. You’ve tweeted more about me than I have about him.

“Soooo actually it looks like YOU’RE the one who is obsessed with ME! And while I’m flattered I’m really just not interested. K thx bye!”
