Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui took to Twitter last night to expose the ignorant and offer support to members of the LGBT+ community.

Identifying as bisexual herself, Jauregui came out to the public in late 2016.

It all started when she shared a user’s tweet that included screenshots of responses people had replied to: “What will you do if your son comes out as GAY.”

The responses to the initial tweet were negative and homophobic, leading to Jauregui to say how disgusted she was with them.

Sharing the post, she tweeted: “This is such a disgusting display of toxic masculinity & a deep ignorance of the expression of human sexuality.

“It is a spectrum that has no shame.

“It will be painful but it will lead you to your true family. Anyone who can wish this on something they created is deeply troubled.”

She then replied to a user who said he: “Would love him regardless as long he’s a good person he could love who ever he wants”, saying: “Shine king”.

Jauregui then comforted another user who tweeted about being terrified to coming out to their parents as bisexual, tweeting: “Do not be terrified.

Your truth is not shameful, and anyone who shames you for living your truth only does it because they are ashamed of who they are.”

Another user tweeted: “It‘s sad that people who are a part of the LGBTQ+ still have to be scared or worried about coming out.

People shouldn‘t feel like they are worthless or wrong for being themselves and for loving someone”.

Jauregui simply replied: “Ever.”

She then responded to a user who tweeted that they had been harassed in the hall at school.

Describing the bully she said: “He doesn’t hate gay people, he hates himself and who he has to pretend to be to be the right kind of “male” ”

In response to a user who’s parents read through their private text messages and outed them to their whole family without permission, she tweeted: “I’m sorry you had to go through that kind of shame and embarrassment, love.

“You didn’t deserve it.

“I hope you’ve found people who love you for exactly who you are, because you are perfectly you.”

She then ended her series of tweets with a message on tackling ignorance, tweeting: “To an extent. Some people aren’t ever exposed to other opinions and are raised and abused their whole lives by toxic people.

“We must bring light to ignorance, not cast them further into their shadow selves”.

This is not the first time Lauren Jauregui‏ has been an advocate for the LGBT+ community.

Last year she has opened up about being bisexual and protested President Trump’s transgender ban.
