Stop everything, RuPaul’s Drag Race is getting a feature length film

Rupaul Drag Race

Hit reality TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race will be getting a feature-length film.

Called “Drag Queens on a Plane”, the motion picture has been described as “the most glamorous disaster movie of all time”.

In a six-minute teaser for the film. we are drawn into a land set on the fantastical Glamazonian Airways.

The plane, which will be packed with every RuPaul Queen in the business, will be taken over by merciless trolls who do not believe in RuPaul’s preachings of self-love.

We were first introduced to the fabulous airline in season seven of RuPaul’s Drag Race in a live lip-sync extravaganza that saw the queens playing air stewardesses performing a sassy pre-flight safety announcement.

It is currently unconfirmed which queens will be staring in the blockbuster, however mother of drag herself RuPaul is confirmed to be making an appearance. Will she be a sassy stewardess sashaying down the aisles? Or maybe she’ll be busy getting down in the cockpit- controlling the plane obviously.

World of Wonder’s Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, who both produce RuPaul’s Drag Race, will be executive producers on the movie alongside RuPaul who will be flying the film to a hit.

After the cult success of Hurricane Bianca, the brainchild of funny queen and season six RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio, we’re hoping for big things from “Drag Queens on a Plane”. Hurricane Bianca saw Bianca Del Rio take on the role as a science teacher who moves to a small town in Texas. With this being such a comedy success, hopefully, World of Wonder can follow in its footsteps and produce an equally as fabulous and hilarious film.

RuPaul and the production team at World of Wonder have been incredibly busy recently. The confirmed news of the film has come a week shy of the premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Three, and the confirmed news that there will be a Thai version of Drag Race.

All-Stars Three sees the return of some of the best queens from seasons past ranging from season two’s Morgan McMichaels to season nine’s Aja.

First-look photos of the first episode of All Stars have recently been released and see the queens looking sickening in their entrance outfits and eagerly awaiting the first task from Ru. A sneak peek at the season’s first challenge sees season eight’s dark horse Chi Chi Devayne doing a stunning jump split on the main stage.

Our guess is that the first challenge is the same talent show that saw Coco Montrese leave first in last years All Stars Two.

If season two of All Star’s is anything to go by then season three will be gag-worthy. There are guaranteed to be more catchphrases, sassy comments, and a 100% forecast of shade.

There is still no release date for the film or even an indication of where we will be able to watch it, so, for now, all we can do is wait for the films promo pictures and hope that there will be a few shots of Ru in a pilot’s hat.
