The comedy series – featuring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin – focuses on the women’s unlikely friendship after their husbands leave them for each other, its first season receiving broadly positive reviews.

Most notably, Friends star Lisa Kudrow will join the cast. She will play manicurist and long-time friend of Grace, Sheree.


Peter Gallagher, who made his debut on the show in season 3 as Nick, will also enjoy a bigger role as the vibrator business’ biggest rival and love interest for Grace.

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin will be back as the unlikely friends-come-sex-toy-inventors Grace and Frankie. They were both nominated recently for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy at the Emmys.

Martin Sheen and Sam Waterson will still take up the ex-husband roles of Sol and Robert in the show.

Brooklyn Decker, June Diane Raphael will return as Mallory and Brianna and Ethan Emrby and Baron Vaughn will reprise their roles as Coyote and Bud.

Producer and writer of Grace and Frankie, Marta Kauffman (who is also a former producer and writer of Friends), has spoken about the importance of redefining roles for older women.

She said season four would see “the women coming to terms with age, coming to terms with how old they are, where their bodies are at this point, where their minds are at this point and what does that imply, what does that mean?’”
