Police have confirmed the official cause of death of bisexual rapper Lil Peep earlier this year.

The ‘Post-Emo’ rapper came out as bisexual on Twitter in August and it was announced that he had died in November.

A tweet from his manager Chase Ortega said he was “expecting this call for a year” about the artist, who was known for his emo/hip-hop crossover style.

His death came a day after he posted a photo on his Instagram with the caption: “When I die, you’ll love me.”

After an investigation was launched by police, it has now been confirmed that the rapper died from a Fentanyl-Xanax overdose.

The Pima County Medical Examiner also confirmed that there were “many other” drugs in the rapper’s system, found a toxicology report.

Sergeant Pete Dugan from the Tucson, Arizona Police Department previously confirmed to Rolling Stone that an investigation has been launched.

“It appeared to have been an overdose from evidence found near his body – most likely from Xanax or a combination of different drugs,” Dugan said before the report was published.

In another twist, TMZ reported that police are investigating a series of text messages sent from a woman, who allegedly visited Peep’s tour bus shortly before he died.

One of the alleged texts reads, “GBC [Lil Peep] high af because of me and my friend lol.”

Another message reads, “He passed the fuck out my brother called and I tried to get him to say hi to my brother but he wouldn’t wake up.”

Dugan told Rolling Stone that detectives are currently “looking into the allegations that somebody was linked to his death.”

However, he added, “it will really boil down to what was in his system.”

Acknowledging the death, Sarah Stennett, CEO of First Access Entertainment, who worked with Lil Peep last year, has released a statement confirming the news of his death.
“I am shocked and heartbroken,” she said.

“I do not believe Peep wanted to die, this is so tragic.

“He had big goals and dreams for the future which he had shared with me, his team, his family and his friends.

“He was highly intelligent, hugely creative, massively charismatic, gentle and charming. He had huge ambition and his career was flourishing.”

Fellow artists paid tribute to the singer in the wake of his death.
