Barbie has officially come out in support of equal marriage and we love it.

The official Barbie Style Instagram, run by Mattel, posted a photo of the iconic doll wearing a ‘Love Wins’ shirt, with the new doll of LA fashion blogger Aimee Song, known as songofstyle on social media.

Barbie posted ‘Proud to wear this ‘Love Wins’ shirt with @songofstyle! Did you know that her exclusive t-shirts benefit different causes and non-profits? Such an inspiring initiative and fabulous few days I have spent with Aimee, she’s a doll! ‘

Needless to say, people love it.

The post is full of comments like “BARBIE YOU’RE DOING AMAZING SWEETIE,” and “YESSS QUEEN.”

“Barbie came out. What a babe!!!!!!! ” one comment said, another another read “lesbian icon.”

Some particularly noticed Barbie’s edgy hair-chop, and another pointed out that you can’t spell Barbie without Bi.

One commenter said “ken is cancelled just like how i played my barbies .”

Another simply wrote “Ken is over.”

Despite posing the scene, Mattel are not yet selling an official ‘Love Wins’ Barbie – but we would definitely buy one.

Aimee posted on her account “Brunch date with @barbiestyle. Had to take her to one of my favorite avocado toast spots! P.S. we’re both rocking our #lovewins tee from @shoptwosongs. Still can’t believe I have my own Barbie!!”

The shirt is by Two Songs, Aimee’s clothing line with her sister, Dani Song.

Here she is sporting the shirt in real life.

The Barbie doll has been around since the 1950s, and her and her boyfriend Ken have been subverted as LGBT icons almost as long.

Earlier this year a doll designer in Australia created a same-sex Barbie family, to try and boost support for equal marriage.

An artist in the US put an incredible twist on the dolls, by turing them into stars from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Rodrigo Alves has committed himself to a heavy price tag as he has undergone 60 cosmetic surgeries and hundreds of other aesthetic procedures to look like the classic American doll.

Mattel last year unveiled a new Barbie design – dedicated to out football player Abby Wambach.
