Someone’s set up a nativity scene with Jesus and his two gay dads and people are loving it.

Comedian and host of Queery podcast Cameron Esposito tweeted the Los Angeles garden scene on Friday, saying “Our neighbors’ two Joseph nativity is up & I’m beaming.”

And, if course, Twitter immediately fell in love.

People definitely thought it made the classic Christmas tale a bit more exciting.

Another commenter pointed out that if a shop had refused to sell two Joseph’s, there was a perfect lesbian team-up opportunity.

Many people were quick to point out that, according to the Bible, Jesus technically did have two dads, so this scene was pretty accurate.

Others were horrified at the shocking destruction of tradition.

I mean, decorations up before December? How dare they!

And we can expect lots more LGBT nativity drama before the season is done.

Last year a designer removed his decorations showing gay Joseph and Marys from Zazzle after backlash from anti-LGBT campaigners.

These decorations are a desperate and ridiculous attempt to pretend that homosexual relationships are pure and holy,” Anti-LGBT campaigner Andrea Williams of Christian Concern said.

“They blasphemously portray the Lord Jesus being parented by a homosexual couple. What depths will the LGBT lobby stoop to in order to try and normalise their behaviour?”

The controversial ornaments

In 2012 a Colombian couple posted a picture of a gay nativity scene on Facebook, to try and draw attention to the campaign for equal marriage in their country.

Angry Catholics described the scene as “sacrilege.”

In 2011 church in California that featured a scene with gay, lesbian and straight couples enjoying Christmas had their display vandalised.

The gay couples were both knocked over, leaving only the heterosexual standing, an act that the police investigated as a hate crime.

So for all those who can’t handle people making tradition their own, there are plenty of others who think this is the season to be jolly, whoever you are.
