Sam Smith has admitted to a very embarrassing run-in with a hunky Hollywood actor at last year’s Oscars.

The Too Good At Goodbyes singer had something of a crush on Tom Hardy, and it was determined to make an impression at the awards.

But things all went a bit wrong when his James Bond theme song Writing’s On The Wall, which went on to win an Oscar for Best Original Song that night.

Singer-songwriter Sam Smith

“When I sing that, it actually hurts,” Sam admitted to iHeartRadio.com.

“I’ve got to grab my balls to sing it.”

Unfortunately for Sam, he had just spotted his crush in the Oscars audience mid-song.

“When you’re singing that in front of Tom Hardy, it’s just not cool,” he confessed.

“I wanted to look sexy in front of him, and I didn’t”

Still, if the platinum selling artist was concerned his Oscars would be remembered for the testicular clutch, he needn’t have worried.

Later that night he claimed to be the first gay men to win an Oscar, which was far more memorable.

While promoting his new album, which debuted at number one, Sam also opened up about how he likes his sex life.

Apparently he prefers the long game when it comes to sex rather than rushing into things, much like with his music.

Speaking to Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, he said: “I like to take my time. I like to love make…”

He also told BuzzFeed that one of his three wishes was to, “be able to give yourself orgasms whenever you want.

“Like, to be able to click your fingers and you feel an orgasm, without any of the work.”

One man who might know is 13 Reasons Why actor Brandon Flynn, who is believed to be dating the singer.
