Kevin Spacey had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old and tried to rape him, alleged victim says

Kevin Spacey had a sexual ‘relationship’ with a 14-year-old before trying to rape him, the alleged victim has claimed.

The claimant met Spacey in 1981 when he was 12, and they started seeing each other sexually two years later, he said.

The man, who wanted to remain anonymous, accused Spacey of being “a paedophile and a sexual predator.”

The House of Cards actor has repeatedly been accused of inappropriate sexual behaviour this week, since Anthony Rapp accused him of making sexual advances on him when he was 14.

On Sunday, Star Trek actor Rapp said that in 1986, a 26-year-old Spacey invited him to a party at his New York apartment and climbed on top of the child, “trying to get with me sexually.”

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Rapp, now 46, said he managed to flee before the encounter progressed any further.

In response, Spacey wrote on Twitter that he didn’t remember the incident, but apologised for “what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour.”

The Baby Driver actor added that he was “sorry for the feelings he [Rapp] describes having carried with him all these years,” before saying: “I choose now to live as a gay man.”

In a statement, his representatives have said: “Kevin Spacey is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment.”

The current slew of sexual misconduct allegations in Hollywood – and further afield, including the British Parliament – started with accusations against Harvey Weinstein, who has also sought “treatment.”

After Rapp’s story was made public, filmmaker Tony Montana accused Spacey of having sexually assaulted him in 2003, saying: “He put his hand on my crotch forcefully and grabbed my whole package.”

Montana, whose film Overnight was an Official Selection of the Sundance Film Festival, said Spacey – who he recalled seemed to be drunk – then told him: “This designates ownership.”

The filmmaker, who was in his 30s, had to physically get Spacey off him and had PTSD for six months after the incident, he said.

And yesterday, alleged victim Daniel Beal said that Spacey showed him his penis in public when he was 19, before giving him his £5,000 watch to buy his silence.

“He said: ‘It’s big, isn’t it?’ He leaned over and tried to pull my hand towards it,” Beal told The Sun.

He accused Spacey of “grooming”.

Another man, who did not reveal his name, told the BBC he was left traumatised after waking to find Spacey lying on him, in his underwear, with his arms wrapped around him.

The man, who was a teenager at the time, said Spacey’s behaviour during that weekend was “either very stupid or predatory – or maybe a little of both.”

He added: “It seems he was grooming me.

“For me, I never let on that that’s what I was interested in. I never discussed it, nor did I want it.

“I was uncomfortable at best, traumatised at worst.”

Mexican actor Rob Cavazos has also alleged that Spacey approached him in “unpleasant encounters” which he said he would have termed “harassment” if he were a woman.

Cavazos was at London’s Old Vic Theatre at the same time as Spacey, who was the venue’s artistic director for a decade.

He said the American Beauty actor was commonly found at the theatre bar, “squeezing whoever caught his attention.”

Cavazos – who has been in Rush and Doctor Who – said: “There are many of us who have a ‘Kevin Spacey story’.

“It seems that it only took a male under 30 to make Mr Spacey feel free to touch us.

“It was so common that it even became a local joke (in very bad taste).”

The International TV Academy withdrew an honour it was due to give Spacey.

The American Beauty actor was due to be handed the 2017 International Emmy Founders Award on November 20, at a glamorous event in New York.

In the wake of the allegations and Spacey’s response, Netflix also announced that House of Cards would be ending after its sixth season.

A representative for Netflix said on Monday that the streaming company was “deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey.”

And Netflix announced the next day that it was suspending production on the show’s sixth season.

Speaking to Vulture, the latest alleged victim – now a 48-year-old artist living in the US with his long-term partner – said Spacey approached him at New York’s Shakespeare in the Park.

“He was kind of in high seduction mode and gave me his phone number and asked me to call him. He said: ‘I want to see you, and I want you to come to my apartment.’

“He said he’d always been really drawn to me at the acting classes, but had stayed away because I was 12.”

The alleged victim was 14 at the time. Spacey was 24.

“I called him on the phone the next day,” he continued, “and he told me how he was in love with me and wanted to see me.

“I went and saw him at an apartment he was renting on the Upper West Side. We started a sexual relationship that first visit, which mostly involved me f***ing him.”

He recalled that “we met up three or four more times with, again, proclamations that we loved each other.

“Also, [he was telling me] that there were producers who were really interested in me as an actor and that he wanted to get me auditions.

“He talked about some play and how he wanted to get me an audition for it. He hadn’t seen me act since I was 12.”

The alleged victim, who was a working child actor at the time, said no professional work came from this.

A few months later, when the alleged victim was 15, he called Spacey to ask if he could see him.

This was when he said the attempted rape happened.

“I had like 15 minutes before I had to meet my parents and some family friends for dinner.

“He told me to come over, and I went to the apartment. And I thought we were going to kiss and tell each other we loved each other and I was going to go.

“But he wanted to have sex, and this time he wanted to f*** me, which had never happened to me before.”

He said that Spacey didn’t tell him he wanted to top him – “he just did.

“I guess he must have come up behind me and yanked down my baggy jeans, and he goes to f*** me and I’m like, ‘No, I don’t want to.’

“And he pushes hard, and grabs me, and starts shoving up against my asshole, and it hurts like a motherf***er.

“I again tell him no, and he tries again.

“I am strong enough, thank God, both somewhere in my brain and in my body, to get him off of me. I’m sturdy, thankfully.

“I throw him off of me and I run crying down the stairs and out into the street and then suck it all up and go have dinner.”

He added: “I know it hurt, so something went somewhere to the point where it hurt, but I remember feeling like I got him.

“I did not feel like I had been f***ed.”

The alleged victim continued: “I always have said: ‘He tried to rape me.’

“I told him I didn’t want that, he went again to do it, I told him no, he went again and pushed harder and grabbed me and pushed harder.

“I don’t know how I would see that as anything besides an attempted rape, which I was able to thwart.

When he was asked if he’d felt afraid, he said: “I don’t know that I felt afraid.

“I felt betrayed, or in danger, or trapped. In some way it was like, ‘Oh, I’ve been lured into a trap.'”

He never saw Spacey again, and said the actor was “a paedophile and a sexual predator.

“I would call him that to his face.”

He condemned the statement Spacey made about Rapp’s allegations, in which the Usual Suspects actor came out as gay.

“When you look at his statement, you realise also he’s profoundly narcissistic. He thinks this is about being caught that he’s gay.

“And then he is spinning it, right? ‘Oh, people like gays now. So I’ll throw them that. I’ll say I’m gay and I will betray my whole community and do something else that conflates pedophilia with male homosexuality.’

“That’s great,” he added sarcastically. “Thank you for that.

“And that was probably the thing that made me want to talk more than anything else. How repulsive that was.”
