After they met on Strictly Come Dancing, model Daisy Lowe and singer-turned-TV-presenter-turned-singer Louise Redknapp quickly became best friends.

The duo appeared on last year’s show, with Daisy being eliminated seventh, and Louise making it all the way to the final and a runners-up spot.

Since the show finished, the pair have often been seen together, sparking claims of a same-sex fling.

For some reason, people seem to struggle with the idea of two famous women being friends.

Rumours of a romantic relationship have only continued since Louise split from her ex-footballer husband Jamie.

Daisy was quizzed about their relationship recently on ITV’s Lorraine.

“Louise is so much fun, it was good to see her come alive and blossom that way [on Strictly],” she said.

“We bonded over our love of theatre and dancing. Louise and I were each other’s cheerleaders.”

And now Daisy has addressed the suggestion that she and Louise’s relationship is romantic or sexual.

“I’m aware of all the lesbian hints. It actually makes me laugh,” she said on her Femme podcast.

“People find it strange we are friends. Why? She’s an amazing, warm, honest woman. I’m proud of her. This is what women should do, support each other.”

She added: “I don’t use best friend often especially with someone I’ve only known for a year but Louise Redknapp completely changed my life.

“The two of us became these kind of wonderful confidence boosters for one another.”

While Daisy launches her podcast, Louise has made a shock return to music.

The former Eternal singer’s third and last studio album was Elbow Beach in 2000, and 17 years later she shared a picture on Instagram of her in the studio recording new material.

She announced an “intimate and live” show in London and will follow up the date with a full tour in January 2018.
