Singer Katy Perry watched over two fans getting engaged on stage at her concert in New York this week.

At Wednesday’s concert in Brooklyn, New York, the multi-award winning singer helped two women with a beautiful romantic gesture.

The local couple, Becky and Katy, attended the concert for Becky’s birthday which coincided with National Coming Out Day.

Unknown to Becky, her partner had contacted Katy Perry prior to the concert, asking for the singer’s help to make their engagement truly memorable.

Katy Perry was honoured with this year’s National Equality Award from the Human Rights Campaign for her loud support for the LGBT+ community.

The singer, who was banned from talking to gay people growing up, bought the couple on stage during the performance on October 11.

Katy Perry then said to Katy: “You said you had a wish. Well, this is a shooting star. What’s your wish, Katy?”

Katy replied: “Well, I don’t know if you all have seen Becky, but she’s pretty even without any make-up on.”

She then brought out a ring and moved onto one knee, much to Becky’s surprise.

The crowd were ecstatic as Becky was proposed to, and Katy Perry dramatically collapsed on stage in response as Becky said yes.

One especially excited audience member can be heard shouting: “I love being gay!” in response to the successful proposal.

The singer has been an outspoken advocate for LGBT+ rights as well as openly criticising President Trump, sometimes in strange ways.

Katy Perry’s tour continues throughout 2018.
