This LGBT hashtag has gone viral and it is perfect and heart-warming

A new LGBT hashtag has taken Twitter by storm, and it will warm your rainbow-coloured soul.

There is nothing quite as wonderful as seeing LGBT youth embrace their identities and celebrate them with other out people.

And #itsthelgbt is a hashtag which says: “We’re here, we’re proud, and we look amazing, dammit.”

In 2017, we’ve already appreciated the delights of #BiTwitter and #PanTwitter, an outpouring of joy, love and hilarious reminders that pansexual doesn’t mean an attraction to kitchenware.

There was also #BlackGaySlay, the beautiful queer celebration of Black History Month.

And because we can’t just have nice things as a species, June brought us the horror of #HeterosexualPrideDay.

That monstrosity was born from the misplaced idea that cisgender, straight people are oppressed.

The abhorrent hashtag trended top worldwide, because sometimes people are terrible.

Thankfully, last month saw the rise to prominence of #LGBTbabes, a glorious celebration of the beauty in the LGBT community.

The hashtag trended worldwide on Twitter for hours, with photos flooding in from LGBT youth and celebrities like Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz.

And now another LGBT hashtag is here to stand against all detractors and protect young, out LGBT people with its overwhelming joy, warmth and acceptance.
