Sam Smith reveals news of his new album

Sam Smith has revealed major news about his future.

The Oscar winning singer is set to release new music after a three year hiatus.

In The Lonely Hour, released in 2014, became the best-selling album of the year in the UK.

Meanwhile it smashed US records, selling more than any other British artist for more than two decades.

Now the singer has sent an email to fans to reveal news of a new album.

“First of all I want to say thank you,” he wrote.

“Thank you for being so patient and for letting me have the past year to really escape into my mind & write music so freely.

“I feel so rejuvenated and have so many stories I can’t wait to tell you.”

The British recording artist continued: “The wait is so nearly over. Something is coming very very very very soon.


“I am scared & excited at the same time. I’ve poured my soul & heart into this record.”

He later posted an emotional message on Twitter.

The album is due to be released in one week’s time on September 8.

He posted an image of a giant advert for the new record captioned, “Morning London x”

Smith was previously criticised for believing he was the first gay man to win an Oscar.
