A man trolled the police for attending Pride Cymru and it has gloriously backfired

A man who took on an ambulance service for attending Pride has been hit with a third-degree Twitter burn – and it was hilarious.

The South Wales Police and Wales Air Ambulance were at Wales’ annual Pride event, Pride Cymru, over the weekend, along with thousands of other attendees.

Thankfully one of these revellers was there to capture the emergency services’ participation in the Cardiff parade.

And former county councillor Graham Down presumably thought he was making an important point about tax money when he tweeted: “Shouldn’t they be out saving lives/catching criminals?”

There was just one issue. Just one little point.

The emergency services’ representatives were giant cuddly mascots.

This gave Wales Air Ambulance the chance to land a fantastic comeback.

“Hi Graham, this isn’t our actual helicopter. Our 4 helicopters are currently on standby for absolutely everybody across Wales #PrideCymru,” the account responded.

The fantastic response has racked up more than 10,000 retweets and favourites.

“Upsetting your supporters isn’t actually clever or funny,” said Graham, who has also retweeted a whining complaint about tax money being spent on beautiful rainbow police cars.

“Yes, yes it is…hilarious, in fact. #bigots #homophobia,” a Wales Air Ambulance fan pointed out.

But don’t worry, Graham. It’s all worked out.

You’ve become a conduit for happiness and pride.

And who doesn’t want that?
