Ariana Grande has performed in a glorious Carpool Karaoke – which almost saw her get into a car crash.

The icon’s version of Suddenly Seymour with Seth MacFarlane will give you chills, but the uplifting duet was almost cut short by the pair hurtling into the vehicle in front.

The singer, who went viral for eviscerating homophobic interviewers last month, exclaimed “Ooh, f***!” as the pair came to a sudden stop during the Little Shop of Horrors song.

Thankfully, the Family Guy creator – who has been criticised in the past for making fun of Caitlyn Jenner – pressed on the brake just in time to save the One Last Time singer.

And, because she’s a true star, the show had to go on for Ariana, who was controversially named “gay icon of the generation” by Billboard magazine earlier this year.

The 24-year-old musician immediately launched back into the track – but that didn’t mean she was over it.

After the two had provided a spectacular climax to the song, she told MacFarlane: “We almost died!”

“That’s my fault,” he responded. “That’s my fault we almost died.”

Ariana was more concerned with the duo’s reaction though, telling him: “But the belting was more important.

“I like that we didn’t skip a beat.

“That is what comes from being a theatre person. You stay in it.”

The pair performed the song to mark the total eclipse which the US enjoyed on Monday.

Ariana attracted plaudits for her response to the terror attack on her concert in Manchester earlier this year, which saw 22 people killed.

After the bombing, the American pop star was condemned by bigots and contrarians like Piers Morgan and former BNP leader Nick Griffin.

Milo Yiannopoulos said she was “pro-Islam and anti-America”.

And one US pastor even claimed that the singer, who he called “pro-sodomy,” could be more dangerous than the terrorist who killed innocent children at her concert.
