Piers Morgan has been replaced on Good Morning Britain (GMB).

The controversial journalist and daytime TV presenter previously hinted he had quit the show on his final day before the summer.

Now a duo of new hosts have been brought in to fill his place on the sofa.

Morgan surprised ITV co-host Susanna Reid with comments about his “last day” last week.

Morgan boasted that he is set to jet off to his luxury US pad in Beverly Hills in a matter of hours.

He then added: “Look at this face, happy face. I’m never getting out of bed at 3.45 ever again. Never again.”

Shortly after 6am he told viewers: “It’s our last day tomorrow before we break up for the summer.

“So last chance to see us, possibly ever.”

Susanna tweeted her surprise at his comment, writing: “Last show together tomorrow before the summer at GMB. ‘Possibly ever’ says Piers Morgan” followed by a shocked face emoji.

It has since been reported that Morgan is not yet confirmed to be returning after the summer break.

Two other high-profile men are set to sit-in with Kate Garraway in the meantime.

Jeremy Kyle, famous for his shock-and-awe tabloid talk show, will host the programme for half the week through August.

Richard Madeley, who became famous hosting This Morning, will also host over the summer period.

Morgan has come under considerable fire in recent weeks for his comments on non-binary people, prompting calls for him to resign from some LGBT campaigners.

He recently caused outrage when he called gender fluid people “absurd”.

The TV presenter has been angrily hitting out against gender-neutral and non-binary concepts and people for months.
He lashed out against Emma Watson after she picked up the gender-neutral Best Actor prize at the MTV TV and Movie Awards in May.

He went on a bizarre rant in which he suggested he would call himself “an Arsenal tragic gender,” then said he might wear a dress at the news that a London school was instituting gender-neutral uniforms.

And the chat show host continued his rampage by telling a trans non-binary couple that non-binary children were “a contagion” and that “two or three” trans kids died from suicide last year.
