Piers Morgan has re-ignited his ongoing Twitter spat with Harry Potter author JK Rowling, tweeting on the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter.

JK Rowling tweeted today in celebration of the first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (‘the Sorcerer’s Stone’ in the US), was released 20 years ago, on 26 June, 1997.

She wrote: “20 years ago today a world that I had lived in alone was suddenly open to others. It’s been wonderful. Thank you.”

But Morgan, a vocal critic of the Harry Potter franchise, hit back, responding: “20 years of conning the easily mesmerised masses with execrable literary hogwartwash. Congrats.”

He added a sick face emoji and a thumbs down emoji.

Many responded to the controversial TV host to express displeasure at the sentiment.

This is by no means the start of the feud, however; as Rowling and Morgan often spar on the microblogging site.

Earlier this year Morgan criticised his own words, after criticising Rowling on Twitter.

After Rowling tweeted a screenshot of an article praising her, Morgan attacked the column.

British journalist and Good Morning Britain host Morgan first clashed with esteemed writer and everyday badass JK Rowling earlier this year after he was told to “f*ck off” live on TV.

Morgan appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday in an attempt to defend President Trump’s executive order, which has been coined the Muslim ban by many.

Morgan earlier this month ridiculed non-binary people and anyone else who doesn’t identify as a man or a woman in a rant.

Rowling was earlier in June awarded one of the highest honours in the Queen’s birthday honours list.
