The Babadook is being transformed into a novelty dildo named ‘BabaDong’.

A Los Angeles-based special fx artist has started an Indiegogo campaign under the alias of Billy Raygun to get backing for the ‘BabaDong.’

The Babadook is the newset LGBT icon and will be transformed into the BabaDong

The BabaDong is 7.5 inches in length from base to tip and will have a girth of 5 3/4 inches around its thickest parts, according to the campaign page.

“The idea for the BabaDong hit me up recently (just in time for Pride month!),” he said.

“I thought it would be a great way to put out a fun product, and help a cause I’m passionate about at the same time.

“I am a huge supporter of LGBTQ rights. If this campaign takes off I will be donating 10% of the profits to Lambert House,” Raygun writes on the campaign page.

Lambert House is a centre for LGBT and questioning youth that aims to empower young people through the development of life skills.

The ‘BabaDong’ will be made of high-quality silicone with a sturdy base so it can be strapped on and taken anywhere and it is dishwasher safe.

The campaign is hoping to raise $15,000 in order to start producing BabaDongs.

It has so far raised a total of $88, however, with one month left to go.

“If the goal is met, the Babadong will go into production, so you will all rest assured that your Babadongs are getting Babadone,” said Raygun.

Since the campaign has started a number of people have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts.

“The BabaDong got me Babashook,” Tweeted one person.

Another tweet read “if it’s in your butt, the place it will belong. You can’t get rid of the BabaDong.”

The Babadook was a widely praised indie horror film by Jennifer Kent in 2014, about a single mother and her son who are terrorised by the otherworldly creature ‘The Babadook.

In 2016 the social media was adopted by the gay community as a metaphor for coming out.

Not only due to the creature being locked in the family’s basement in the film but also due to a hilarious Netflix mix-up where the film was categorised as an LGBT film.

This lead to a number of memes spreading across social media and even a number of Babdook cosplayers at Pride parades.

At the time of writing this, there are only two backers for the BabaDong campaign.
