George Michael’s burial spot is to be changed as adoring fans continue to flock to the sight.
Highgate Cemetery, in north London, has proved so popular with Wham! fans that it may be forced to change its opening hours.
Thousands continue to go on tours of the area in the hope of seeing the singer’s grave.
Although the exact spot is hidden from view, it hasn’t stopped vast number of fans turning out in the six months since his death.
A spokesman for the cemetery said yesterday: “We have had George Michael fans coming to the cemetery, even though we don’t publicise where he is buried.
“Whether that remains the case for the time being or permanently depends entirely on the wishes of his family.”
The resting spot of the late legend is not formally open to fans.
Callers or those looking at its website are told: “George Michael’s grave is in a private part of the cemetery, which is not accessible to visitors.”
