This toilet paper takes dumping Trump to a whole new level

This takes the idea of ‘dumping Trump’ to a whole new level.

A Mexican businessman has created Trump brand toilet paper, taking advantage of a not-so-rare oversight by the US president.

Turns out the Trump Organisation has trademarks on his name in construction, hotels and tourism – but not toilet paper.

Corporate lawyer Antonio Battaglia saw a gap in the market, got Trump toilet paper approved for copyright in October 2015 and expects to start rolling it out this year, the Guardian has reported.

And with slogans like “Softness without borders” and “This is the wall that, yes, we will pay for,” rolls should fly off the shelves.

Though there are many Trump toilet paper rolls online, Battaglia has a higher motive than most.

If he does log a profit, the lawyer has pledged to give 30 percent of it to programmes which support migrants.

Battaglia said he was “really bothered” when Trump launched his presidential bid by saying that Mexican immigrants to the US are “bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”

“My thinking was: We can’t keep quiet, right?” he said.

“So with this insult that was made, (I figured) I’m going to add my grain of sand in response.”

Battaglia said he had signed a contract to make a small initial run worth about 400,000 pesos (£17,000), which is enough to fill two cargo trucks.

He added that he hoped to generate enough demand to expand production later on.

A mock-up of the branding used by Battaglia shows a promise that it contains four “puros rollos”.

This double entendre literally translates as ‘pure rolls,’ but can also be understood as ‘pure nonsense’.

Its mascot is a grinning toilet roll with Trump’s inimitable hairdo, the swoop of unnaturally blonde hair as unmistakable as its large blonde eyebrows.

But since there’s no direct link and the likeness of the mascot isn’t exact, Battaglia is confident of being safe from legal ramifications.

Yesterday, Trump ended Barack Obama’s eight-year tradition of LGBT Pride Month celebrations in the White House.

Last month, he failed to bring up LGBT rights on his trip to Saudi Arabia, despite attacking Hillary Clinton during the campaign for the exact same thing.

And with Trump’s first 100 days having generally been an utter disaster for LGBT people, Trump paper might be a good way to squeeze out your frustrations.
