There is lots of anecdotal evidence that more gay men have beards, but now there is some actual evidence.

The journal of Evolution and Human Behavior investigated the phenomena.

In a survey of 1,577 men and women from Brazil and the Czech Republic, gay men had stronger preferences for men with more facial hair.

The journal learned that men who have sex with men found people with “thicker facial hair” more attractive.

But when the study was repeated for women, the findings were not the same.

The second study found that men who were clean-shaven and those with a full beard were the less sexually attractive to women.

Meanwhile the sexiest men were those sporting heavy stubble, followed by short stubble.

Another finding suggested that, for gay men, guys with thicker facial hair make better longer-term partners.

But if you can’t grow a full beard, then don’t worry: guys are most commonly attracted to guys with similar levels of beard to themselves.
