A dearly-departed Orange is the New Black character has made a surprise return, ahead of the Season 5 premiere.

(Spoilers for Orange is the New Black Season 4 below!)

Would YOU survive an Orange is the New Black prison riot?

Ahead of Netflix’s latest season of Jenji Kohan popular prison drama, the internet streaming giant released a cross-over with another one of its shows, Black Mirror.

Short skit ‘Orange is the New Black Mirror’, released today, mirrors the plot of Black Mirror’s beloved gay love story San Junipero.

Taystee

The clip, below, features fan favourite Taystee (Danielle Brooks) reunited with her dead friend Poussey (Samira Wiley).

Wiley’s character was dramatically killed off at the end of the last season, sparking a riot inside the prison.

But in the clip Taystee dreams of seeing her one more time in Black Mirror’s virtual afterlife, San Junipero.

The pair reconcile and dance, but a few moments later Taystee is sent back to the land of the living – waking inside the prison.

Though her on-screen ending may be tragic, Poussey actress Samila Wiley got her happily-ever-after in real life.

The actress tied the knot to one of the show’s writers, Lauren Morelli, in a beautiful intimate ceremony earlier this year.

Season 5 promises to be an explosive one, with the show left on on a cliffhanger as the pregnant Daya points a gun at prison officer Humphrey – and a gunshot is heard.

The Netflix show will be back on our laptop and TV screens on June 9, picking up exactly where it left off.

The latest trailer recaps the final minute of season four, as Daya is urging her to pull the trigger.

Alex and Piper hang back from getting involved in the riot sparked by Poussey’s death at the hands of an officer, eventually leaving the scene entirely as even more prisoners arrive.

According to Danielle Brooks, who plays Taystee, season five will only span three days.

But the Netflix release will be “very detailed” and “very intense”, she said, with all episodes taking place in real time.
