Melissa McCarthy and Alec Baldwin return to SNL as Spicer and Trump and it’s the best one yet
The two comedians have frequented the show alongside the main cast to crack jokes about the current state of American politics.
The sketch comes after McCarthy was spotted on the streets of New York City on Spicer’s mobile press podium.
Videos of McCarthy in the sketch were leaked on Twitter on Friday, but we never could have imagined how hilarious the finished piece would be.
The clip starts with Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, played by Aidy Bryant, giving a press briefing.
Outside of the press pool room, Spicer is seen hiding in bushes.
The press ask Huckabee if she can take over, and imply that President Trump is set to fire Spicer anyway.
Spicer storms into the room, berating the group of reporters and sets to work on “clearing up” the speculation surrounding FBI Director James Comey’s dismissal and the ongoing Russian investigation, all with the help of Russian matryoshka dolls.
The reporters question Spicer’s true knowledge of the situation, and say that Trump makes Spicer embarrass himself.
McCarthy’s character becomes angered and upset, and calls off the conference to travel to Trump Tower in New York City on his infamous podium.
Spicer is seen rolling through New York in search for Trump to the sound of Simon and Garfunkel’s The Only Living Boy In New York.
However, Trump is not at his hotel, but rather at a golf course in New Jersey.
“Have you ever told me to say thing that aren’t true?” McCarthy asks Baldwin, who is playing the president in the sketch.
“Only since you started working here,” Trump replies.
“I think I can’t do this anymore Mr Trump. They’re saying that you’re going to replace me with Sarah,” Spicer said.
“Sean I would never do that. She doesn’t have your special spice, salt and pepper. A little bit of sugar,” Trump says while tickling Spicer. “You like when I do that?”
“No I’m married,” Spicer replied.
“Sean, kiss me,” Trump says. “I can’t I have a wife, I took vows,” recoils Spicer. “It’s ok, I’m famous.”
“Is this like in Godfather when you kiss me and no one ever sees me again?” Spicer asks before Trump embraces him.
