Ed Sheeran waves LGBT pride flag at London O2 show
Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran sent fans wild at a recent concert as he embraced LGBT rights.
The superstar performer has been doing a tour of his latest album, Divide.
On the third night performing at London’s O2 arena Sheeran pulled out an LGBT pride flag, and wasn’t shy to celebrate the equality symbol.
Instead of ignoring the rainbow flag or returning it, the singer embraced the moment, waving it triumphantly in front the tens of thousands of fans.
Twitter user Ciara, who was at the UK concert, wrote online: “ed waved a pride flag last night during you need me and i love him a lot” followed by a series of rainbow emojis.

He continued to wave the flag as he sang one of his biggest hits of the year, You Need Me, I Don’t Need You.
Videos of the moment were posted online, with another user writing: “the fact @edsheeran randomly brought out the pride flag during a song at the concert literally melts my heart?”

The pair performed during the first of Sheeran’s record-breaking Wembley Stadium shows – the singer made history earlier this year, when he became the first act to headline at the world famous London venue without a backing band.
Earlier this year, a video emerged of a freestyle rap battle between Sheeran and rap artist Devlin, in which the singer branded a fellow rapper ‘faggoty’.
The creator of the Pride flag, Gilbert Baker, died aged 65 earlier this year.
Baker, a civil rights activist, army veteran and tailor created the Rainbow Flag 39 years ago.
A rainbow flag was flown at half-mast at the City Hall in San Francisco to mark the passing of Baker.
Of the rainbow flag, which is flown at Pride events and protests around the world, Baker said each colour represents something different.
“Pink is for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sun,” He told ABC7.
“Green for nature, turquoise for magic, blue for serenity and purple for the spirit. I like to think of those elements as in every person, everyone shares that.”
