The skit, which features actual dogs available for adoption, sees Colbert and Parsons tell lies about the delightful dogs to help them find homes.

The first dog Colbert pulls out is Max, who had the idea for Uber before anyone else.

Next up Parson’s calls out Penny, the fashionista who swears cargo pants are coming back.

After the first two comes Leo, who fought in the war. Then there is Waldo, who is a perfect puppy for student’s because he is “the only dog who actually eats homework”.

The moon landing denier Lola is next, then Jack Reacher who had a whole series of films based on him.

Then there is Tucker who owns the rights to the whole Beatles catalogue, followed by Rusty who was born into a crime family.

The heart-warming segment comes after the show’s host, Stephen Colbert, faced unprecedented criticism this week for telling a “homophobic joke about Donald Trump.

Colbert has stood by the joke, and insisted that he does not “regret” the comments. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has since initiated an investigation into the episode.

It was recently revealed that Jim Parsons is one of the highest paid actors in the world, scrapping in $1 million for every episode of The Big Bang Theory that he makes, however he and his other male co-workers recently took a pay cut so that female actors on the show could get a pay rise.

Parsons character, Sheldon cooper, is set to get his own spin-off show later this year. The show will feature a younger Sheldon growing up in Texas with his right-wing family.
