Gay bobsleigh athlete Simon Dunn apologises for naked photo leak
A groundbreaking gay athlete has apologised after a fully naked photo of him was leaked online.
Australian athlete Simon Dunn had the naked pic leaked to Tumblr this week.
Dunn previously became the world’s first openly gay bobsledder when he competed for Australia.
The 29-year-old revealed the news on Twitter, saying an uncensored photo of him had been shared without his permission.
The sportsman told his followers: “Unfortunately pics of me have ended up online.
“This is obviously not one of my best moments, for that I’m sorry.”
The image shows him standing with a camera in his hand, taking a photo of himself in the mirror while wearing no clothes.
His penis fully visible in the explicit image.
A cropped version of the image originally appeared on Instagram and had to be removed after Instagram claimed it broke their community guidelines.
He wrote in an online post that he believed it was hypocrisy to allow Kim Kardashian’s comparable image, but not his.
Responding to the controversy, Dunn wrote: “In light of recent events, I thought I’d show you that I do look good with clothes on as well.”

Dunn is one of few out gay athletes to compete in the world.
A world champion pole vaulter recently came out as gay.
Meanwhile it was claimed three footballers are set to come out as gay, and are in talks with FA bosses about the best way to do so.
