WATCH: Mel B from the Spice Girls broke her character on Broadway to perform ‘Wannabe’

Mel B surprised the audience of Chicago on Broadway in one of her last shows by breaking out into ‘Wannabe’ by the Spice Girls.

The singer shared the surprise that she gave to the audience on Instagram.

“Here is a snippet of me last night doing my last show In @chicagomusical playing Roxie heart [sic] breaking character busting out some spice power,” the 41-year-old wrote alongside the video.

Fans thanked the singer for her dedication to the role.

One wrote on the post: “Loved seeing you in it, it is definitely not going to be the same anymore Roxie hart! You’re forever MY Roxie!”

“Perfect! I was there yesterday, and you were so good! loved seeing you! It felt so real, almost like you didn’t have to play a character with lines, but as if you really were her,” another wrote.

“This was the best thing you ever could have done! I was so excited I was screaming,” someone else added.

The show marked the end of her career on Broadway.

Her husband, Stephen Belafonte congratulated Mel B on Instagram.

“Congratulations to my super sexy multi-talented wife @officialmelb For playing the lead in Chicago on Broadway!! All good things come to an end and now I get my baby back!!!” he wrote.
