Adele had an amazing Grammys last night – taking home an impressive five gongs.

Or four and a half, if you count the one she gave to Beyonce.

On winning the Best Album gong, Adele took to the stage to turn down the prize.

She told an audience of the great and the good from the world of music: “I can’t possibly accept this award, and I’m very humbled and very grateful and gracious but my life is Beyonce, and the album to me, the Lemonade album, Beyonce, was so monumental, and so well thought out.”

“And so beautiful and soul bearing and we all got to see another side of you that you don’t always let us see, and we appreciate that.

“All of us artists f**king adore you,” she added.

“You are our light. And the way that you make me and my friends feel, the way you make my black friends feel is empowering, and you make them stand up for themselves.

“And I love you. I always have. And I always will.”

In a move straight out of Mean Girls, she then shocked by splitting her Grammy in two to give half to Beyonce.

She subsequently explained the speech after the show.

She also gave an emotional tribute to George Michael.

But the tribute didn’t go to plan as she stopped part way through.
“I can’t mess this up for him!” she said, requesting the song be started again.
