James Corden and Adam Lambert have gone head to head in an epic Queen singing battle to settle who would be better for the role.

On Thursday’s airing of the Late Late Show with James Corden, the British presenter quipped about how he was excited over the announcement of the bands North American tour, but mentioned he had always thought he would be good at fronting the band.

“In my head when I was growing up I always thought that I would make a great front man for Queen,” Corden said before he begins to lay into Adam Lambert, who has replaced the late Freddie Mercury as the bands front man.

“I mean it’s all right. Should be a British man. I’m not saying I’d be a better front man than him, I’m just saying I think I’d be a better front man than him. That’s all I’m saying.”

“Surprise” guest Adam Lambert then strolls onto the stage and offers Corden a challenge. “Maybe we should go head-to-head James. Bring it!”

Original Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor assist the battle as they begin to play a number of classic songs that Lambert and Corden take turns at singing.

Corden eventually admits defeat after Lambert belts out “Another One Bites the Dust”.

“You’re a better front man than me,” he admits, looking upset. The two finish the segment by with a duet on “Somebody to Love”.

Maybe stick to Carpool Karaoke in the future, Corden.
